http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/4x4-tracks.htm Problem
Hi all, has anyone had any problems using the Interactive Mapping with Google Maps in 3D + 2D real time. By the time i get to NSW it freezes and comes back with this error message:
The Google Earth Plugin had an internal error.Try reloading the page.
Have tried reloading it a few times and get the same message.
And yes AB, I'm using Firefox
Cheers, Todd

Ok, learning something new everyday mate.
Google Earth plugin for this has some bugs with certain Firefox series.
Supported browsers currently include Firefox 2.x, IE6, and IE7, all only on Windows.

Above is the latest version of Google Earth Plugin. See if you have the latest version there. If you do then I assume that you are not using Firefox 2.x.
I'm not even sure if Firefox 2.x is the latest edition or an earlier one????
Thats the only issue with new browsers these days...Life was ten times easier in the 90's...lol

Thanks Andy for looking into it for me, you assumed right, Im not using Firefox 2.x., I am using a pre-release version of Firefox called Minefield. Guess that's the price i pay for using the pre-release version of Firefox not everything is going to run smoothly.
Yeh life was ten times easier in the 90's
Thanks again

Did you end up sorting this out Todd?
Did you upgrade FF or anything to see if it helped?

Hi Andy,
Did not upgrade FF, but it worked fine with Google chrome, It was no major issue as i have Google Earth installed on my system, just like the idea of 3d and 2d side by side. I would of liked it 2 work on the beta version of FF i'm using, I'm sure it will in the near 2 distant future. Whats software without some bugs anyway *L*.
bth, Sorry 2 hear about you Dad, Like u, i'm stubbin, but your write up has made me think twice and now i am going to make an appointment 2 get checked out. Thankyou.
hope all works out well for your dad.

Not sure how many people would use this excellent page Andy, but a fly to location would be a great add in 2 the code, well that's my opinion anyway *L* keep up the good work, out of all the 4x4 forums i have surfed across, this is the only forum i have actually joined

I found it interesting in regards to the ff quote:
Purists like to complain about Internet Explorer because it isn't
picky enough, but in this case that's why it works. Firefox doesn't
like using strings in this line:

Interesting read, cheers!
Sometimes keeping things simple is better then overcomplicating it and creating more problems.
