Haha! I thought, well was hoping, as soon as i post, they will show up. As It happens all the time to me when I'm trying to figure something out. I ask on a forum and as soon as I hit reply, the light bulb goes off. But I really think they are gone. As they sit in the same spot all the time, next to the drill press.

Driving the Newell Hwy from Melbourne to Coonabarabran NSW and wondering why such a major freight route still passes through many lovely small country towns makes me angry.
I feel for the people who live close to the Newell as I spent a short night less than 200 m. from it to have a break. Its like an endless freight-train passing your front door.
Australia is such a wealthy country but fixing the Newell seem to be last priority.

I see you point but by passing small towns will pretty much kill any income from passers-by.

They still haven't finished the Pacific Highway so those inside the "sandstone wall" can get to their beach houses in the weekend along the coast!
Cheers

Some of the country towns in the southern wheatbelt/great southern/esperance area have had special truck bypass routes that go around the town over here in WA

@mudski as an example when was the last time you were in Seymour. I haven't been there in ages.[over 30 yrs]
It was always our last stop to fill up and grab a burger coming back from Yarrawonga, now its dead.
The Newell would be one of the worst HWYs in Aust imo
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Not angry. Just waitin'. For the shop to ring me and say bring it in for the engineers. And waiting for the snorkel and airbox to arrive, and a call about the 4inch comp housing for the turbo. Lol. I hate waiting for things....

I'm sleeping in Melbourne Airport tonight as jetstar cancelled our flights. This is the second flight they have cancelled on us. We had to stay over night in Perth Airport a year ago due to a cancelled flight and swore never to fly with them again, I'm 100%positive this time they will never get our business again.
