I recently bought a spun carbon steel camp oven. Basically there were two to choose from. The Hillbilly one you’ve seen & the ‘Aussie Camp Oven’, made by Southern Metal Spinners. http://southernmetalspinners.com.au/...ping-cookware/
Both are well thought of on the Camp Oven forum ( http://www.aussiecampovenforum.com ). Each have their own fans. Hillbilly seemed more expensive for no extra benefit to me.
So I bought the an Aussie Camp Oven& got the 12” version for $71.80. (plus postage). So far all I’ve done with it is to season it (slightly different process to cast iron) but I reckon it’s a good solid item. The lid can be used separate as a frypan if wished, & it comes with a perforated metal trivet. I also bought one of their ‘Bush Woks’ which I have used (& won a camp cooking comp with it).
Bedourie’s have less height. Can’t recall but I think there may be a small difference in height between the Hillbilly & the ACO.

Just in my handling of the thing whilst hot (I did the 'seasoning over a fire) I really didn't find the handles a problem, in fact quite the opposite. The two handles on the pot make for a far more secure feel than a single one, whilst the lid one remains folded down out of the way unless needed. The lid one would come in handy when using it as a fry pan, or lifting it off with coals in it.

Thanks Cuppa, saw them but didn't like all the "handles". Need you to do a cook up and post your results! Aussie-camp-oven-small-10.jpg
I have the first model of the above oven I've found it great for stews when a heap go away,
Might want to invest in a pair of multi grips or design your own handle when using the lid
as a fry pan. Ive had my "Bedourie since the late 80's and still as good as the day I brought them.
Only down side they are not good for bread making, but I have cast iron ones for that.
The handle is a PITB to use on mine
Hillbilly are designed for use with heat beads as well, good system plenty of combo's
