    Fishing Strzelecki

    G'day guys,

Heading along the Strez over the easter long weekend. Just wondering if there is anywhere good to fish along the way and if any waterways are running currently?

    Cheers

The Strezlecki is a mountain range.
Not sure what rivers or creeks are in that area

Double check for road closures before you go.
There has been a bit of rain and localised flooding up that way and possibly more on the way late Easter.

Should be able to get a feed or two of Yabbies if the billabongs aren't too high... dunno about the fishing but make sure you check out the Regs, lot of closed or seasonal closures on various waterways.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

OOHH even better hope you like Yellow belly great fishing out the back of innamincka at the waterhole'
Any waterhole/dam you come across will be full of yabbies, well should be
might even be some water at the dig tree, as stated any water you come across should
yeild a decent feed , keep your fishing licence valid .As for the "Cullyamurra" waterhole fish with peeled green prawn on a #1 circle hook
under a[running] ball sinker, plus there are very early signs of aboriginal presence and early Aust exploration as well
As you know a DPP will be required. we caught plenty of yellow belly and silver perch
more than enough for a feed.
Beware of the fork tail kites[brown kites] to some,, they will peck the living hell out of your camping gear if left to themselves
if you need to say go to the trading post for some drinks what ever. they picked through blue tarps and even lure boxes were torn in half.
Be aware you are very close to "FLY CENTRAL" so plenty of bushmans is the go.
We went September so check if roads are open as temps may till be quite warm this time of year

Yep yellowbelly should be the go.

FWIW TD, I know a few holes guaranteed to hook a trout in the Strzlecki Ranges. 1 per hole - drop in worm...bang ....of to next hole. Get some good sized yabbies too.

Cheers guys, I'll be sure to throw the yabbie nets in and get some yellow belly gear together. Looks like a good weekend for it so far!
