A little overwhelmed, would appraciate some clarification about WLL
Hi all,
I was looking at buying some rated recovery points for my Patrol GU III.
I've started doing some research online to get an idea of the price range, but I'm not really sure if the ones I found are rated high enough. They list a WLL of 5 tonnes, and my car will probably end up weighing around 3.1 tonnes. However, I'm not quite sure if I should be adding a buffer..
Thanks

your WLL - will be determined by things like
stuck in mud
stuck in sand
stuck in water
etc
if you fire off a PM (private message) to Threedogs - he manufactures them - and they are a good bit of kit
Tidy Whitey - 99 GU TD42Ti - Diesel Gas, (GUIV Turbo & Intercooler 8Lb boost), 33" Micky T's Baja MTZ's, Dual Batt's, Cargo Barrier, rear draws, HID Super Oscars, winch, Grinch & witch attached and more goodies to come

WLL is a working load limit...
As above, pm threedogs from outback ideas for them.

Same price as your eBay sets, but uses quality aus steel and he tests the designs to 16+ tones before they get sold..

WLL is a lifting term and doesnt really have much bearing in snatching 4x4 terms,
Its the same as SWL , why ppl would want to over rate something the Manufacturer says
is beyond me.
My points are rated to tow at your max towing capacity all dat long. but heaps has been written on it
so PM sent.
Until someone comes up with a STD it may be all we have.
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

Like everyone has said get them of threedogs.
Also get one per side AND remember to use high tensile bolts.
