Which Coil Spring Compressors to buy.

I had a loan of some coil spring compressors so I could slip some rubber under the spring tower, to eliminate that as the cause of the noise in my suspension. The problem is that the compressors started to bend instead of squashing the spring. Can anyone recommend a set of compressors that will safely handle the Patrol springs?

Unbolt the shock and jack the chassis up

Rather than putting rubber back in there put some 15mm coil spacers

Waiting to get cash for the proper rubbers as well. I can't seem to wrestle the spring out, even with the shocker and sway bar link off. May have to take the radius arm off as well. I thought compressors would make the job easier on my back.

Use a pair of the compressors on one spring.

If you only have a 2" lift jack the whole front up and throw some jack stands under the chassis then drop the wheels off and lower the diff this should allow the springs to loosen up.

I'm not sure what you have available to you but you could use like some small ratchet or tie down straps. Throw a couple on while the weight of the car is on them, then jack the chassis up.

Do the strap idea as suggested then, it shouldn't be hard on your Back and those coil compressors are a dodgy tool .
have you got flexi coils ? Or have you only got a small jack.?

For sure mate, either put the spring compressors on while under load then use the jack to lift the chassis and the springs will stay compressed. Trying to compress the springs will be a bugger mate.

Big fan of putting the chassis on jack stands (you should only have to jack it like an inch or two mate) then jack the front diff up and remove the wheels and let the front diff drop down. Keep it low mate, your springs should fall out even without compressors. Absolutely should Not need to touch your Radius arms.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
