Intermittent shudder or vibration at 800 to 950 rpm
Hi. My GU with TB45 automatic puts out a shudder at around 800 to 950 rpm coming from standstill. The whole rig vibrates until I go past 1k rpm. This happens 50% of the time. This just happened last week. I had atf and filter changed two months ago. What are your thoughts guys.

Does it do it standing still. Put it in park and run through that rev range. Then try with it in drive but brake on so it can't move. Also might be worth driving it and manually changing gears to see if it is rev related or speed related or just before or after gear change.

Did you get to see the magnet in the pan when they took it off? That's generally a good indication of expected future trans life..
You can also run a diagnostic through the mode button on the central console. Check the FSM for details.

Hi Three Dogs,
The mounts or bushes are okay.
Hi JFF45,
I wasn't around when they serviced my rig. Care to elaborate how to do the diagnostic on my 2001 GU TB45?
Hi 4bye4,
will do what you said and post the resaults.

The factory service manual has very clear steps on how to run the diagnostics. It explains how to translate any errors that appear.

Hi Zhing, makes me wonder if its the output side then. Maybe tailshaft or universals? Hopefully someone else can add some light.
