kms and muddies
I have a 4.5l gu on gas with 32" all terrain tyres and I get anywhere between 340 and 400km on a tank of gas and so I was wondering is there a mud terrain tyre that won't lose me a lot of kms. My brother recently put 32" mickey thompsons mud tyres and he lost 70km per tank, in his pajero. Does anyone have any stats or personal experience with putting muddies on there gu with hw many kms they lost. Thanks

Hey I think but don't quote me but I thought mud tires are of a softer compound rubber that's why lose of klms. I have always run hwy tires and have a second set which are my mud/sand tires.. I know it makes it hard if you doing a trip which will turn into a bush trip. Its hard we head to glasshouse mts every second weekend and I am often called by a mate to head bush and have wrong tires on. It just makes life a bit harder but never say no.

Your brother probably lost the kms because pajeros usually run smaller diameter tyres than 32s. I wouldn't go bigger than 33 on your gu unless you have a fuel card with your truck.

I run 33/12.5 km2s, 4.5 auto gas. Get around 350 for 100L of gas.
