Dash cam
Anyone got a dash camera like this one ? I'm looking into one for the work ute. I don't need it to be any sort of high definition just to cover my ass in an accident and i noticed this one and two others have a second camera I can mount on the rear.
Also if the screen comes on with the car it could be some what of a reverse camera
I'd love any feedback if you have one

This one don't look too bad, not sure about the speed and map outlay though.

I have the first one. (identical unit but I have the one without the extra camera)
The colour is good but the quality of the video is a bit so so.
The infa red for night driving is pretty useless.
The instructions claimed it could connect via the cable to the computer.
When I tried to connect it to the computer it said I needed to download software. I contacted the company and was told software was not available.
It also uses a micro sd card, I then had to buy a card reader to connect to the computer.
What I do like about it is, its compact size, and it can be fitted to the screen without those bulky suction cup mounts.
I also have one similar to:

Its colour is not as good as the other one, but the infa red works a lot better, and uses a std SD card.
Down side is the suction cup mount.

cheers! so a few questions on the one you have that’s identical to the one I’m looking at ..
When you turn the car on will it turn on and start recording automatically?
On start up will the screen turn on also?
The usb isn’t an issue as I have an adapter for that for my camera already and its primarily going to be driven during the day so that’s not a concern either
so I’m thinking this might be a winner but ill wait for your reply and keep looking lol

It starts recording when car starts.
It has record times of either, 1,2,3,5,10, 15 minute intervals.
The screen will come on as well. It does have 4 settings: Screen permanently on, or Turn off after 1,3 or 5 mins.
Has 3 settings for the G sensor, as well turning off.
Has a motion detect sensor, if this is set the camera will start recording automatically if there is any movement within it field of view.
The instruction manual isnt good.
Ive had mine for about 18 months, I paid $55 for it at the time.
As I said, I like how compact it is and can easily be removed and stuck in your pocket.

Sweet. Thanks mate I think that's what I'm after, hopefully I can set it to stay on with the car and display the rear camera as I can't see past the tray at all.
