Dont bother, just go and make a coffee and chill out while it drains!!!!
It can help to jack up sides of the car to get the oil out..

The oil will drain quicker if its warm, but id just drop the plugs while its cold and let it drain no hurry

Always a good idea to warm it up. There is always crud floating around in the oil, although on a microscopic scale that will settle to the bottom on the sump that doesn't always drain out when the plug is pulled out. Running the engine/gearbox helps to suspend the crud in the oil and drain it efficiently.
