Torches
Hi guys, im in the market for a good torch, Want to spend around a $100.
Was looking at getting a 5D Maglite, but would like to see what you peeps are using or recomend.
Looking for the usual, distance, brightness, durability. Will be an all rounder, home, camping, vehicle.
Any ideas or suggestions from experience or know how would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Pete

I use one of these 1500 lumen ebay specials... This is a link to same one on a US site which is $60 but I know I got is for $30 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Romis...d5a7b76&_uhb=1
I've had it for years now and it kicks arse....I only ever only use 1 led setting.. I have 2 sets of batteies(rechargeable) and they last about 6 month each set with limited use
barreries were another 10 bucks with re charger.
Could look at something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KEYGOS-Z1...ht_4930wt_1111

G`day Pete
I`ve had a maglite for over 20 years and it`s still going strong but i`m changing the globe to their led system as it eats batteries with the old globe system. After 20 years of harsh conditions it`s still water proof and works as if it was new. Mind you there are plenty of other choices out there today.

The price of excellence is dicipline , the cost of mediocrity is dissapointment .

Agree with boots, I have many torches I use for hunting and the p7 wins for its ease of use and the fact it uses aaa batteries that last a long time .
Mag lights are so behind!!!

I would also agree with the couple of comments above. Head torches have come a looooonng way and super bloody bright. You can get adjustable beam which is pretty cool.
With the head torches I still only use the Chinese made cree lights and they do the job for around $5 each.lololol

X 2 The P7 Led lenser is a great compact torch, I also have a 75 watt HID torch to do the toast lol, sorry but Maglight are a bit outdated now,
The mini mag has a led kit from Jaycar worth looking at. but 6 x d cell batteries is over kill. Get on Ebay plenty of great led torches
but I'd be going the P7 led Lenser ,you wont be sorry, plus they focus
