How are your traxx holding up
Maxtraxs and other brands have been around a while now and thought Id look into it a bit more.
Probably more suited to sand work on the beaches, but handy neither the less
How many of you that have them think they are a good bit of kit??
Have they lived up to the hype?
Are they lasting [how many times used]
Basically a road report on them

Yes, they have...
Naahhhh, mine have seen prob 60/40 sand and mud...
Good? they are bloody awesome!!! Beat sandbags, carpet, PSP or whatever hands down...
Unequivocal yes...
Mine are 5 years or so old, used a few dozen times or so and still good...
Sorry, can't answer that last one, never used them on the road...
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

My maxtrax are about the same age as ET's. They've only been used about 3 times in all that time and still ok. Maybe one of the lugs is a bit melted on the tip, no they weren't used by Badger, only on 2 bloody Prados and a Pajero.

Got a set of maxx trax on my work ute they're an awesome bit of kit, very handy on sand as you don't have to dig much, so quick way of getting going again.
If you use them correctly i.e. just feather the throttle and let the grip of the trax pull you out, then I reckon they will last you a long time. But as soon as you hit the throttle too hard you will just spin the wheels and that melts down all the teeth. Not a piece of kit that I would ever lend to anyone else as most peoples reaction to being bogged is to gun it as hard as you can!
I think people see them and think they're some kind of 4x4 magical tool that can get them out of any strife... They won't get you out of anything that a trusty ol' shovel couldn't
GQ Patrol, TD42 NA, 33's, Snorkel, 2" inch lift, Dual Batteries, Roof Rack, Awning... Many more to come

Yeah a bit handier than carrying those old gal tracks Malcolm Douglas used back in the day.
Found some that are 60mm thick and 1200 long x 330mm wide for $100.
They say they are good for 10 ton but not sure they would. time will tell.
Then to make a bracket to hold them somehow on my faux spare wheel

Agree wholeheartedly. I used mine to try and restart my progress up a sand dune. Melted some of the lugs but not too bad.
