Looks good mate , well done.
Yep I'm pretty happy with them. Tested them out as a jacking point tonight and they hardly flexed at all .
I am off to the West Coast this weekend so will give them a good work out there in the mud and the bush and the rivers: Yahoo!:
Mate, I'm so jealous of you. I've had plans to build a set of protection steps ever since I bought the Old Trol, but I keep finding other ways to spend the money I save for them. Your work looks great.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
Yeah I'm really stocked at how well they came up.
They were pretty cheap to make all up they used 10.5m of pipe, some scrape 6mm plate I had lying round or you could use 2.5m of 6x80mm flat bar, and 200mm of 65x65 shs, 2x m12x100 8.8 bolts and nylocks, 4x m12 x120mm 8.8 bolts and nylocks and if I had worked consistently they would have been done in less than a day not including painting
It seems like a long time since I started this, no excuses just life getting in the way as it dose from time to time.
On Sunday I removed the chrome bumper ends off the front leaving just the factory winch basket. This afternoon I was able to get away from work a bot early so I started on making the new tube bar. So far this afternoon I got the drivers corner done and half of the passengers. All going well on Friday I will get the rest of the passenger corner done, the hoops made up and welded on get it prepared for paint by the end of Friday.
I will take some pictures as I go and put them up
A couple of update pics
