    Just looking atm...
But a lot around the 300,000k mark. A few good ones around the 180000k mark. Is 300 sorta mid age for the 3ltr, or pushing the end of it..)
Lol yeah he looked at one then knew the truth about toughness and kept his q!

I love my 4.8 gu but I'd go a gq over a 3L any day. Just can't trust a 3L there is a reason they are so cheap. If ur looking at a gu there are only 2 options 1. 4.8 not to expensive a bit thirsty but u can run them on gas( mine on gas is cheaper to run then my old mans 200 v8 diesel). 2. Or you fork out the money and buy a TD42 turbo intercooled( unforchanitly this wasn't an option for me because I need an auto thanks to my bung left nee and I didn't have the money either)

Yea for our future plans a petrol would not have suited.. towing a 20foot van would have showen some good figures...

So yea, that's why we kept the td42. Sure it won't be quick, but the old girl is still returning 12L/100 loaded for camping, and 16/100 towing a 1.2T camper trailer..

So Kallen, if someone came to you with a late model GU 3ltr with low Ks and asked if you wanted to swap what would you do? (be honest)

I would swap. But only for comfort reasons.. I'm no short ass and my kids ain't either, so the extra seating room would be nice..
I would never push it as hard as I do my Q though, in fear of scratching the plastic...

If I could afford a GU, I would buy a MQ/K and strip it down and totally rebuild it. Brand new MQ would be awesome.

It's pretty clear all car manufacturers including Nissan have been getting worse with their Vehicles over the past few decades. The Y62 Patrol is not as good as the Y61 (GU) which is not as good as the Y60 (GQ) which is not as good as the (160) MQ/K.

There are a heaps of other differences that I'm sure will follow...

The GQ's look strong and robust and are more suited for manly men whereas the GU's have been known for their feminine appeal and grocery shopping attributes....lol

    Yep, here it comes!!!
From 2000 to 2005 the GU 5 speed box had a weak 5th gear. It was fixed after that. With the GU it really depends on the series/year. Overall I think the GQ's are tougher as they did not seem to have the same issues.
