Water crossing 4.2 Diesel clutch seized
Forgive my ignorance but It feels like the pressure plate may have (rusted) onto the flywheel a couple of days after a water crossing, pumped up clutch to no avail, blew out the slave cylinder and the clutch fork is now rattling around.... Replacing the slave and such is no problem but someone might have a old trick for the sticking?

I would usually start it in gear drive around with the clutch in until it releases.

don't know if it is comon but mine looks like sealant around clutch housing to engine surface & got a cover over clutch rod area so can't say ever had this problem but yeah a mate done what 97_gq_lwb said & it worked after couple of sharp potholes must have done the trick as its been 6 mnths & his is still working...
If it doesn't try a lever or worst situation drop the box n put very small amount of antiseize around the throwout bearing slide area

The pressure plate can't rust onto the flywheel as it's not in contact.
There is a clutch plate between the flywheel and pressure plate, clutch plates don't often rust but have been known to.
I would say the throw out bearing carrier has rusted and jammed.
You have forced it and bent the clutch fork maybe.
Box has to come out!!
Cheers, the ferret.

97_gq_lwb is right, i had this happen to a toyota surf, my diesel mechanic mate told me to drive it around, we drove it around the block 4 or 5 times and nothing, we tried everything. Then as we were driving it to the mechanic to take the box out (i was way too lazy for that) it came free. This was also after a drowning. Just drive it around and give it some shit, she will loosen up.

Sometimes a clutch plate can get suction stuck to the flywheel and pressure plate from being totally wet but it sounds like the throwout bearing has rusted and seized solid on the snout. Once water gets in the bearing etc they're rooted.

Cheers Guys, Thanks for the feedback!! Cheers to 97_gq_lwb, tried but no go! Ferret and bordertech nailed it, seized throw out bearing, snapped the clutch fork and blew out the slave cylinder....oops. Off to the shop..
