    1989 MK differentials

    Hi,

i have 1989 MK SD33T short version and my car differential is:

    Front : i think C200

    Rear:

My rear differential C200 too or H233 ? and what is the differential rates? 4.3 or 4.6 ?

I want to use, 35" AT tires at summer

I want to use, 37-38 Extreme MT (maybe bogger) at winter

what you need to use for this ? 4.8 or 5.1 ?

    and

where can I get rings & pinions

    Regards.

The MKs had from factory , depending what country your from ???, 4.33 diff ratio (aussie version)

The diff ratios from an MQ , aussie versions, can be 4.11 (P40 6 cyl) 4.6 usually SD33/L28

The diffs from a ute will bolt straight in , these come in a 4.88 ratio, usually in a H260 diff model , strong as an ox

There were other diff ratio options in the MQ/MK range but in the overseas versions, these unfortunately arent easily avaliable in australia

    Rear , seems H233
The H260 diffs are HUGE, the centres arent interchangable between H233 and H260
Dont forget IF you change the rear diff ratio youll have to match the front the same ratio

From the pictures, the front is a C200 and the rear a H233.

I will not put 35 or bigger tires on a C200 diff. Spider gears fracture and CV's break. Good luck.
