I had FC2's on my old 60 series Landcruiser but I am and have been running atz's on my Patrol for 3 years. Both are great tyres, but I think the FC2 is a bit quieter on road.
At the moment I am running the new STZ mickeys on my Isuzu ute and have not got any complaints a real good tyre but have had to fit at standard sizes because here in Queensland the tyre companies WONT fit bigger tyres to your vehicle then standard and insurance companies are wiping you coverage if you have bigger tyres fitted.
When patrol arrives will be fitting Mickeys to it
Done a few K's on my MTZ now and a fair bit in 4WD, wearing really well, even and no scolloping of the treads.
They are incredible off road, just keep grabbing in mud or on rocky stuff.
Is it me, or the change to a Patrol or the tyre?
Don't know and don't really care, just having a ball!!!!
Used to the road noise, thats a price to pay to have a good day on the tracks.

ATZ 4 Rib would have to be the best 'compromise' tyre I've had - grip on road wet and dry is more than acceptable, road noise is not too bad at all, and off road grip in multiple terrains (shale, dirt, sand, mud) is very good all round ... as said, a compromise as I need something that is good on road (family bus also) and we do pretty much a 50/50 split on sand and dirt/mud, so these have proven (so far) to be top value for money ... got the whole five fitted (285/75 r16) for $1620.00 with a 90,000 klm guarantee/warranty. Even if I get 70-80,000 out of them, that equates to over 4 years of driving for me.
Hi Bigrig , how did these work out for you. I'm about to replace mine on the patrol and like the sound of these MTZ's. Allso where did you purchase from please
I'm 10000 km into my atz 4 rib. I came from bfg at. I have not noticed and difference on the black top besides a little more road noise but still quieter than I thought. wearing well. Off road these things are really good for an all terrain. I do country dirt roads farm tracks ad graded roads these things are not half as skatey as the bfg's bite into the dirt and loose rock and was ona hill on the farm cutting a new track I thought I'd turn around on the hill down a gully. Underestimated the slope and te rain we've had for 2 weeks and started sliding sideways down the hill talk about sphincter muscle clenching. I put the righ foot down turned te wheel ad all a saw was grass and mud fly outi gained traction ad drove out of it. I'd be on my side down a gully in my old bfg's
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward.
Whoever cannot take care of themselves without that law is both.
For a wounded man shall say to his assailant,
'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.'
Such is the rule of honour.
Very happy with my 305 x 16 MTZs on their last legs now but served well over all terrains.
Will buy again I think maybe 315s this time not 100% atm,
Noise good when new not that bad now noisier at 60kph than 100kph

04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Had some on my Patrol for about 15k before selling the car. Great tyres, kept up with most people wearing full muddies, and they have minimal noise. Will definitely be going on my next Patrol.
