    Everyone says 'what an idiot,' but then nt news just keeps publishing it. And the punters expect to open the paper and read about it.

    And there are some truly lucky people out there.

    Alcohol may have been a source of some judgement calls to cross.

    But you've all heard the way crossings are done in the nt? Normally you would walk an unfamiliar crossing etc. With all the crocs there, walking is really out of the question. A salty will remember a place where food regularly crosses, and of course help himself.

    1. Arrive at crossing.
    2. Back down to water, just dipping the back wheels in.
    3. Drive up the bank and park at top.
    4. Sooner or later someone will come from either direction, assume you have crossed, and barrel on through. Watch carefully.
    5. a) if they make it, take the same line they took.
    b) if they don't make it...
