Check out "Bob The Oil guy" he has cut open numerous filters and posted his results. Apparently Fram is really bad.

I use Ryco oil and air filters.
FUel filter: I had a problem with an air leak , meaning the car wouldn't run if it was left for a while( fuel drained back into tank ). I took it to the mechanic and he fitted a Parker "Racor" R20S fuel filter assembly fitted with the brown 2 micron filter. It was pretty expensive, but has a glass bowl to view the fuel colour and quality. My mechanic told me that it even cuts out the fuel supply to the engine if too much water is present in the fuel bowl.

I use ryco air and oil filters only, do not use repco oil filters as they can leak. And for engine oil use pentrite 20-60. For diff oils a good LSD oil for both
