Hi mate, I'm pretty sure that the 3l only has a pre tensioner type adjustment. In other words if the belt is squealing it maybe worn out and the tensioner is at it's limit of travel.
I've only ever replaced one belt on mine and that was a long time ago and can't remember for sure.

The ZD30 has an 'automatic' belt tensioner with a little shock absorber. It sits next to the water pump from memory.
If you have belt squeal it could be caused by the belt (worn, or stretched, or contaminated with coolant or similar), the tensioner shocker, a worn pulley bearing (or poorly aligned) or the insulators that the shocker are mounted on...
Normally with this style of belt its worth roughing up the belt with a wire brush and maybe some drilube after that. If that doesn't work it'll need to be removed and check all other items.

cheers for the info fellas was sending me a bit loopy,
after a check everything seems to be running smooth, i rubbed a bit of wax (candle) over the belt and the noise has gone so im gonna go with a worn belt. ive picked up a new one & i'll add it to the list of things to do this weekend..
