Hey Mudski, What do they say? Oils ain't oils -LOL!! Same goes for tyres I reckon. Even tough I have not actually measured them, you can see they are a larger diameter than the BFG's even though they are both 285/75/16. My BFG's still had about 9-10mm of tread before I changed over to the hankooks, so not overly worn down. I also have the hankooks in 315/75/16 and when parked next to a mate of mines Patrol wearing the same size tyre, 315/75/16's but in BFG KM2's you can quite clearly see that the hankooks are larger. I'm not saying there's a huge difference but it is definitely noticeable. Oh and I do understand that a 285/75/16 is closer to a 32.5" but we generally refer to them as 33's. Actually come to think of it, before I had the BFG's I had MT MTZ's in 285's and I remember thinking then that the BFG's looked smaller than the MTZ's they just replaced.
The Hankooks are pretty quiet on the road, comparable to the BFG's when new. What they are like after they've worn down a bit is yet to be seen... Or should that be heard? Pretty sure Stropp has clocked up more K's on his Hankooks than I have on mine which is just under 5000k's. I've found them pretty good on the blacktop in the rain too lately, considering they have no siping. I have to admit that the BFG's are a little better in the mud though.
