After installing the second hand engine two weeks ago, found that when you release the clutch it made a horrible grinding noise until the clutch plate grabbed 100%
So, drop the gearbox and found the flywheel was scored.
Got my original flywheel, cleaned it up and spent an hour on it with some wet and dry 1500 grit and WD40. Cleaned up really well.
The pressure plate and clutch plate that came with the second hand engine are brand new so installed them on my original flywheel and put the gearbox back in.
Now the GQ runs quietly and is ready for a blue slip.
Woo Hoo!!

Just about to jump into my next Patrol. A 2001 GU II TB45E .
WARNING!: Do not ever use a towball as a recovery point. They are not rated and can become a deadly projectile during a recovery if they snap off, and they have done so with tragic results in the past.
Nothing on the patrol but I sold my original set of alloys, and was shocked to see who turned up at my door. Very very high public figure. In respect to his wishes not to be named, all I can see is he drives a very nice 4.2 !
