Over Boosting
Thought I would put back in the positive pressure actuator (CRD) last night and with a bit of boot the VDO boost gauge went off scale at 30psi and could hold it there easily. Think something wrong with diaphragm/spring (factory spring set at 23psi) but EGTs were running good. Crawled home Tillix back in this morn.
Glad I have gauges...

Last weekend was the hybrid superflex arms to fix the castor angles in the front. This weekend was all about getting the rear pinion angle back to within spec with some superior adj uppers.

What a mongrel it was to get those bolts back in with the shortened upper control arms. Thank god for ratchet straps and big screw drivers.
Note: I could actually see daylight through one of the old upper control arm bushes!!!!

Installed new radiator header tank, ordered from Patrolapart on Monday, arrived yesterday, was a long week and now installed (all good).
Leaned on old tank overflow spout up the bush last weekend taking a short cut (changing turbo actuators) and busted it. Cautious trip home.
At least I can now see the coolant more easily in the new one .

Of course it did! The damn thing will be waiting for you to be way out in the sticks and all alone, and probably bogged. Then: click . . . click . . . nothing!

Yep, agree. Check and keep checking until you find the loose wire or dud earth or faulty key tumbler, as it won't be funny out the back of nowhere-ville.

Took the GQ out to get a load of wood on a gnarly little track called Sands track which is in the Mohyu Timber reserve , because it's so rough and steep virtually no one gets there wood off it so easy pickings .
Got some photos of the result of last nights lightning storms on the phone but will post them up one day , we counted six trees that were hit and three exploded to leave about six feet sticking out of the ground the others were ringbarked in a spiral down the trunk with bits blown off all over the joint .
Truly an amazing sight and all within a few hundred metres .

The last time it did it, turned out to be a starter.
