Mounted my solar panels...
Now i just have to hard wire them in. Anyone know of a 'good' cheap reliable mppt solar controller? Or am i better off getting a decent pwm?

Nice man. I won't be much help on that side. How much did it set u back? I was thinking of doing similar but under the racks.

The panels are 160w bit deals off ebay. To mount i simple bought 2 x 3m lengths of 30x30 3mm alloy angle from bunnings cut to length and then bolted to rhino bars. The alloy was about $30 per length. So all up it probably cost me $70-80 to mount.
They sit a few mm below the top of the bar. So i could still put stuff on top if i desired.

Nice sooty_10. I've thought about doing this for my rack but I'd put it under the mesh on a slide so i could pull it out the back or front when at camp. That way you still get the full use of the rack and still get a small trickle charge even under the mesh when not using it

Yeah i did think of using drawer rollers for it. But as I'm simply storing it there and will pull down when at camp for any length of time i couldn't be bothered trying to work it out 😆 Loosen 2 turn knobs and mine slides right out and can be set-up on the ground. (Padlocked for security too)

Bought a second hand rhino rack and put on. Not the prettiest bit of kit but should be strong, aerodynamic and functional.
2010 GU, 2in lift, old man emu suspension, duellers, arb bullbar, dual batteries, safari snorkel, scangauge2, rhino rack platform, saving for more......
