Took the throttle body off the ZD30 today and was surprised that there wasn’t that much gunk in there. I believe it’s the first time it’s been cleaned. Carefully cleaned what I could from the intake and removed the flap off the swirl valve. Egr is already blocked. Don’t know if it’s my imagination but I think it goes better

Been chasing a coolant leak for the last couple days, and finally tracked it down to a small section of cracked hose joiner, now just gotta work out which part it is - think it's one of these two:

Also took of my recovery points off that were looking a little bit sad and prepped them up for a quick spray

I did a river crossing today, exactly the same way I have crossed this river over 50 times, and had 6 out of 8 blades fracture on the fan hub and have scored the radiator, but its not leaking. Extreme shuddering and vibration at 2000rpm, but being a coolish day, didn't affect the engine temps. Looking for a new tougher fan blade system and will use a radiator shroud next time. the GU patrol , a hiluxDSC01863.JPGDSC01862.JPG and a Terrano that followed and did exactly the same crossing, without shrouds, came thru fine. the fan blades are 3000klm old. Not happy.

Reckon the material is too hard/brittle and they are also too close to the core to allow for any deflection. I have not put a ruler in it yet to gauge the differences with the other vehicles. Could have been disastrous based on the tough climb out to the road and a recovery would have been complicated to a point where it could be towed home if it overheated.

Rang BD today and they say the blade if off a standard toyota 1HZ, so they are going to replace it with a 3F fan blade - apparently tougher - time will tell.

Took it on an epic adventure through the high country for a long weekend with friends.

Perfect weather, perfect company, really good tracks, climbs, river crossings, etc!

Loved the new diffs, went up a pretty hard section in particular with full articulation on all sides, short but steep climb and no scrubbing which was a surprise!

My handbrake cable snapped on a morning start for some reason which was strange but a flawless weekend nonetheless.

starting to get used to the new diffs, I like a lot!
