I am in the process of doing a set for mine. I bought a slider kit for a SWB which turned out to be the worst piece of engineering I have seen so in the process of starting from scratch.

Like you, currently working out the chassis mounts. Most I have looked at are not exactly what I would call substantial so working it out. But as you say, there is not a lot of room to work with.

The part that has me most 'concerned' is the rear mount as it leaves a far bit of the slider at the back unsupported.

    On my lwb,

I had u brackets made at a local metal place out of 10 mm plate.

The U brackets are long enough to be fit bolts above the chassis rail.

I used a simalar beacket for the front as per the link
1991 GQ LWB 4.2 Carby dual fuel, 32 mud claws, 2 inch lift, LSD's front and back

And its Toooooooo High for the Ball & chain

Surdex steel sell some cattle yard steel that would be perfect
for sliders, about 6" x 1" with rounded ends not square.
Will make awesome sill savers IMO
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
