    wiring

I just got a 1985 Safari 3.3l one, its got a whole bunch of electric issues, glowplugs (have put in an aftermarket switch for now) Guages, the altenator guage doesn't work. Headlights only working on High beam (on one side) and Indicators (none at all but hazards work) also no reverse lamp...
does anybody have a wiring Diagram for this I think I might be installing all mty own wiring to get it all going.. unless somebody knows of this issue and its just one arcing wire (dreams are free)

I would be looking at replacing the indicator /headlight stalk assembly, I have a couple here.

I would start by checking all the fuses and the connections between the fuse and fuse holder (from memory, I think it the same fuse for the reverse light, gauges and indicators).

Your headlight problem could be blown bulbs or the headlight switch (as stated above) or a combination of both.

Other possible cause of your indicator problem could be a faulty hazard light switch (yes hazards lights can still work) a faulty flasher can relay (once again from memory I'm sure they run two flasher relays, one for the indicators and one for hazards) and the indicator switch.

Reverse lights (if not a fuse problem) could be a faulty reverse light switch, blown bulbs or a wiring/connector fault.

I would also make sure the vehicles main earths are ok, especially the earth from the negative of the battery to the body.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers Rodney
