    Head gasket

My 2005 GU DX ute has done about 205,000km, and my mate reckons it needs a new head gasket.

Here's the pics. What do u reckon.

It does make a click click noise. It mainly does it while accellerating, and quite often when cruising. It will do it at some speeds but not others, and never does at idling?

    Comments please.

I say your mates wrong, it's just an exhaust leak. If it was a head gasket it would be miss firing. Take the heat shields off and have a close look. While the heat hields are off get someone to start the engine and give it a rev if necessary, and see if you can feel where the leak is coming from.

I agree with Tony, A manifold leak or even a small flange leak is more likely the issue here & a much, much cheaper fix to I might add.
