Hope the pic works
currently i think htis is how it is wired, and i am getting,
at "a" - 4 volts
at "b" - 4 Volts
at "c" - 12 with igntion
the coil is brand new, and it measures 1.3 Ohm across the 2 terminals and
10k between the Center teminal and the outer terminals
does this sound ok?
done alot of searching to no avail... i more confused now than before...
Thanks in advance
Aaron.

OK it sounds like your resistor has bit the dust. you should have 9v at a & 12v at a in crank (start) so I would suggest you change that (around $7 to $10 not hard to do either

I agree with Paul, sounds like a faulty ballast resistor. Make sure your new ignition coil is compatible with ballast resistors (it may have an R in the part number somewhere eg. GT40R)

The balast that was in ther ewas meant to be 1.6 but was reading bout 5 ohm
