There is a another way 2 associate file extensions with programs but can't think of it at the moment.

I am using Chrome. Ha! I tried to read a pdf for young muddy nut's camera on the wordpad and it read it as computer language. When downloaded it, I saved it to the desktop and it saved as a windows media file.
Is there a page on the media program that reads pdfs?
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

On the PC, open file explorer, right click on the file and select properties, it should give you the file name with a file extension of .*** ( might have to left click on a details tab, but remember in previous win versions )
Example: Mudnut.pdf or Mudut.***
Whats the .*** say, as it doesn't sound like whatever you have is a pdf file
Hope that made sense

You can choose not to install it.
If you go to Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program
Look for .pdf and click Change Program and tell it which one to you want to open it with

It only comes up with WMC or wordpad, which reads all the files in computer language.
