    Not very fast.

Doesnt nissan recommend a speed you shouldn't exceed in low range. Something like 50 or 70 kmh

Yeah. If your in 5th low you should be in maybe chasing gears in high range i reckon. Too much unnecessary stress on 5th when its not needed.
But i would guess around 50ks.

Wait... what...? 5th on low range...?

Is that 5th on low range or 5th on 4WD high range?

I doubt that you will be ever in a situation where you are looking for anything more than 2nd gear in a low range - and again I may be wrong to assume so.

Wow!! I have been in 5th Low Heaps of times!! I reckon your good for 50 or a little faster Kallen.

Low Range in Sand can be far less stressful on the gearbox in all gears so to get to 5th in Low is not unreasonable or surprising when your running down the beach. Your likely not to be there for an extended period as stopping and grabbing HiRange is reasonable but some of the beaches in SA are long enough to find 5th but short enough to not bother with HiRange. IMO.

Your Gear box has 5 gears for a Reason and splits All 5

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yes yours was very restricted hey! Allen are you looking to fit up those reduction gears you have into the GU? it will certainly drop your speed somewhat. Bene, you have 85% though yeah? Kallen only has 24% i think?

Seeing as you basically double your horse power from selecting low range
and 5th being a very weak link in a gearbox, I would recommend High range.

but you are asking out of curiousity I gather, as for those reduction gears
are there any 63% ones still left seemed to be the perfect reduction lol
