    Also with the pressure switch mine actually has four wires coming out, I think 2 actually control the condensor fan but haven't confirmed it yet. Just something to keep in mind. I think a lot of the airconditioners were later fitted at dealers so there could be variations.

    thanks to everybody on this post.
    My neighbour was over for a coffee this morning and asked me if I had any ideas as to why his a/c was not working as it had not long been regased. Remembering reading this post last night we ran a few checks an bingo no gas. He`s a bit unhappy but at leased we found his problem, so abig thanks to all

Check here, this is actually a switch too so you might have to tweak the knob if you only have power on one side. If you only have power on one side then this is faulty. To confirm it is the thermostat there is a small capillary tube which goes into the evaporator. You really can't miss it.

    4. Next stop, under the black panel next to your battery there is an a/c relay which should be labeled as such. you should have power at this relay too and if you are keen you can test the relay with a couple of pieces of wire and checking with a multimeter. Ask if you're not sure how.

    5. Then you have your low pressure switch to test for power at, which has already been mentioned.

    6. From there the last place is the connector at your A/C compressor.

    That pretty much somes up the aircon power circuit so hope it helps. Before you do any of that take one of the caps of and depress the valve quickly to see if there is any pressure in the system. Oh and checking the sight glass won't help until you get the compressor running. Hopefully at least some of that is helpful.

    Mate tell your neighbour to make sure that the receiver drier is changed out at the same time when it is regassed, this cannister is full of a kind of dessicant which absorbs moisture, if it has been out of gas for a while chances are it is full of moisture. Also, they should charge the system with nitrogen and some A/C dye to find the leak before they go ahead and recharge it. Many dodgy operators skip this part because they know you'll be back in a year or so to get it done again. Cheers. Jon.

    Hey Mate I bridged the compressor staight to the battery to check if wiring was the problem it cut in just fine. the problem was the thermister amplifier just under the glove box. hope this helps.

    Was there a way to test this amplifier under the glove box? Should it have an ohm reading or something?

    Experiencing similar issues.

    Had auto sparky air con dude out today he has said my compressor is knackered, but didn't actually test anything. All he did was put some gas in and say its stuffed.
