Air Bag problem
Hi
i seem to have some sort of issue with my Air Bag, all of a sudden the other day the light on my dash started flashing.
I have not done anything to make this happen. I havnt pulled apart anything or hit anything.
was just wondering if this is a common problem? or if i really do have an issue that needs fixing.
The flashing light is bloody annoying!!!

I can tell you that if the light is flashing, there is an issue.
Best to get it looked by a Nissan specialist cause there is no comprimise on safety.
Hope you get it goin well again.

x2 with teleman............If the light is flashing then there must be a problem somewhere. Could be simple or not.
My suggestion would be take it to dealer as the worst case would be it going off as you are driving.
Good luck with it and hope its only a simple fix.

ok sweet. I just read a few things over the internet that said there was a way to clear the codes or something if it thinks there is something wrong but there isnt.
Does it have to go to a dealer? If not who else could do it?

g'day leigh, just found this after doing a little search on google.................... it may or may not help, it's seems to have helped some people but not everyone.
1) Open the driver's side door.
2) Put the key in the ignition and turn to ON (but don't start the vehicle)
3) Within 7 seconds of turning the key to ON, push the driver's side door switch button at least 5 times.
4) The Air Bag light should go solid...give it at least 7 seconds, and it should begin to blink a 3 second, 2 second on/off pattern.
5) Turn ignition to OFF and remove key.
6) Start vehicle, and wait for the Air Bag light to turn off to verify that it worked.

Clearing the codes or resetting the air bag light will only work if the code/s stored are history codes (i.e. the problem with the air bag system has been repaired).
If the original problem has not been resolved and you were able to clear the codes they would reset again and bring the light back on.

Ok so I took it into Nissan today and it's the clock spring.
They say it will cost $700. I will get prices elsewhere, but what will it cost roughly?
Or can it be done by myself if it's not to hard?
Any info on how to do it would be good, to see if it's to hard
Cheers
