    nissan patrol gu chassis

gday guys, Iv just noticed that on my 99 gu patrol on the lh side chassis rail just under the engine some fresh looking paint and a small setion of peeling paint, iv searched for rust looked in chassis holes with small mirror and torch could only find one tiny speck. I think a dual battery that was mounted above the lh chassis rail may have been punchered with acid spilling everywhere becuase the car has no rust ext anywhere else. Whats the best way of stopping any future rust taking place?
    thanks

There use to be a poduct like a paste called "KillRust", I think, and you'd brush it on for a few minutes, wash off with water, dry and paint. It was very good for neutralising rust and preventing any further damage. I haven't seen it around for a while, but it should still be available.

Yes we use Kill Rust or you can use "Rust Converter" which works on the same principal and then overcoat with a primer, etc.
