    Auto locking hubs problem

    Hi guys / girls,

While doing some maintenance on my auto locking hubs i broke some type of cir-clip, after finding this excellent forum and the ability to download the factory workshop manual, i believe the clip comes from inside the "brake b".

    My questions are:

    1) Does anyone know where i can get a new 1 from, or should i just get one from the wreckers and hope it lasts, I rang Nissan, they didn't know what i was talking about

    2) Will not having the clip stop me from engaging 4wd without causing damage 2 something?

    Hope this post makes sense.

    Thanx in advance

That diagram looks more like an MQ/MK auto hub, GQ auto hubs have a manual locking hex on the out side.
Quickest and easiest (and cheapest fix) is to remove the auto locking mechanism and make them a manual hub.

    Thanks Tony,

Removing the the auto locking mechanism and making them a manual hub sounds like the best solution to my problem.

    Thanks again Tony
