H260 diff for my MK Swb needs a brake drum

I've just purchased a H260 diff from a Sydney wreckers to fit into my MK Swb, it came out of a 1987 MK tray/ute and being sent to me via TNT.
I've been told it's missing a brake drum.
Are the brake drums the same as the H233 diff on a MQ MK or are they bigger and same as a GQ?

    Thanks Jeff C

I should be able to help you with one, as I have a few MQ/MK diffs.

It needs to be one from a ute.

So there is a difference ? MQ/MK are 270mm dia x 50mm wide, GQ are 295mm dia x 60mm wide, what are the ute ones?

I'm taking the diff back to Sydney tomorrow, they didn't know what a H260 diff was and sent me a H233, they tell me I should have asked for a "ute" diff!!!

    Afraid theyre right
H260 are only in the utes and are a different ratio to every other MQ/MK ratio
    H233 is what a shorty has, running either a 4.33 or a 4.625 H233 ratio to a 4.88 H260 ratio will cause many issues

IF they charge you for a H233 and ya got a H260 , i wouldnt complain

There are a few differences in the brake department amongst the MQ/MKs

I ended up replacing the diff with one from a MK wagon (H233) I have here that's in good nick.
I had got onto a H260 with 4.6 gears but the price started at $1400, he dropped to $1100 but I still could not justify the price. There reasoning is they get $500 for the center and $450 each for the axles.

$500 for a centre , possibly from a wrecker and for the rare H260 MQ/MK ute diff
Ya can pick up complete shorty or wagon diffs (thats hub to hub) from either MQ/MK for not much more than $100 to $150
They aint worth much at all
Everyone is into the GQs now
Ive just sold an air lokka 4.625 rear centre and got $400
Wreckers are really outta touch im afraid

4.6 ratio H260 , theyre GQ arent they , not 100% sure if they are a bolt up MQ/MK replacement
The H260 centre WONT fit in the H233 housing thats a certainty
The H260 rear end from the GQ are a centred rear housing, not off centre like the MQ/MKs
