Nissan Patrol Steering Wobble
I have a 98 GU and it has the Nissan steering wobble which i "after reading through lots of threads" have discovered seems to be very common. Mine comes in at about 90 km's an hour and disapears at 110 or thereabouts. The difference with mine is that it isn't there all the time ? I can go for a drive on the highway and it will be there but, next time it won't ?? I am just wondering if anyone else experiences this ?? I should also add that the truck is bog stock with Bridgestone tyres.

It could be a many of things mate, first off I would suggest getting a wheel balance and alignment and checking wheel bearings for play.. Also would be worth getting panhard bushes and tie rod ends checked
Let us know how you go with it mate

Yep I have had the same thing as you ever since I bought the car just over a year ago.. Since then I have had tyres balanced a couple of times, and re-done wheel bearings (I found nothing wrong with tierod ends or panhard bushes.. I have my troll currently sitting at work with diff fully stripped as am putting a new swivel hub kit though as hoping this will solve problems (swivel hubs were a lot looser than factory spec).. I have also checked power steering box for play and my castor is spot on for my lift.. Can't think of anything else that would contribute to wobbles and this is more or less my last step lol..
You basically have to go through step by step until you find the source of the problem

I have the same problem in my 04 gu, never been able to fix it, seems to be a nissan feature. My dads old GQ does it as well

I'll let you all know how I go when I put my diff back together if it solves my problem.. At this stage it looks like it will as swivel hub bearings are stuffed.. Time will tell when its all back together though

I find if I rotate front and rear tyres every 10,000 kms it seems to fix the wobble but occasionally i thow a weight off a rim and need to get it rebalanced but my camber is fine and my alignment is good and my bearings i do ever 100,000 kms so yeah it still comes back i learnt to just live with it hahahahaha

Patrol God
Over the years I have found that having the front wheels balanced on vehicle helps a great deal.
Not all Tyre Companies do this.
