    TD42 rotary v. inline pumps

OK, not a specific problem, I am just curious.

Do most TD42 Patrols have rotary or inline pumps? What are the advantages of each design?

My TD42 has a rotary puymp, FWIW.

I've got both. Not in one car
As I understand in-line pump is typical truck solution. If You get problem with one of cylinders (whatever) You may switch-off one section in Your pump and keep going. Much easier maintenance etc. If You loose alternator: and You have no el you may take of idle from the pump and start vehicle pushing it - then Your engine works until You have fuel in Your tank - with no battery at all!!! try to do it with roto-pump
Also turbo kit works easier with in-line pump. As far as I know...
