Tow ball failure claims another life
Yet another avoidable tragedy...
Details are sketchy but apparently she was in the front pax seat and the vehicle reversing. If so one would deduce that the "towball" that killed her detached from whoever they were pulling out maybe? Not that it changes the end result.
Mother of 3 and the Kids were there too... "freak accident" my butt. How many fatals is that now 6?... less people die of snake bite these days
EDIT... Latest news http://www.perthnow.com.au/news/west...-1226118702921

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Enjoying the trips
No what a waste, it seems so simple a thing to do but with such devastating results.

When is the bloody government going to start advertising the dangers of recovering vehicles in this manner, how many more lives are to be lost??

Maybe we should all email the new's outlets and say we hope they are gonna report responsibly and tell them the correct way to use a snatch strap and that under no circumstance should anyone use the bloody towball

They already have mate. There is a Mandatory Product Standard that states all Straps must only be sold with the following notes and warnings (abbreviated for clarity).
Persons using the strap should do an accredited course
Cannot be used for towing
Damper MUST be used
Only people directly involved to be in either vehicle
DO NOT CONNECT THE STRAP TO A TOWBALL
etc etc
The Gov man requires that info to be with any and every strap sold in Oz, retail, online, Ebay doesn't matter.
Unfortunately you cannot advertise or legislate against negligence or stupidity

The problem that I see with labeling of straps is...........who reads instructions, they are only read when all else fails, way to late then.
