diesel fuel sensor
My patrol has 3 electrical connections on the fuel sensor. The new one I bought has only 2 connections.when I compared the two sensors the old one has a little cylinder at the bottom with a wire coming from it.Does anybody know what that is because the new fuel sensor works OK,but it has to do something.

2002 nissan patrol 3ltr engine . Checked all the electrical connections and are ok. It is only the main tank fuel gauge which is the problem. When the gauge reads nearly half full the tank is completely empty.
