New Member with a botched GQ

    Hi all!

Last year I got myself a GQ that I knew needed a LOT of work.

The first issue I tackled was a death wobble, turns out the previous owners were complete morons! What's the solution to a slipping bearing? Loctite of course! It essentially welded itself together and we took to it with a grinder just to see if we could get it off (pic attached)

In the end, I decided to let the rego expire to save myself from the urge to risk it in a death trap, I already refused to let anyone else drive it or even ride in it. I now have a list from the pit inspection (including removing the 5-6" of combined lift ) and now myself and the old man will be getting it to "non-death-trap-but-still-a-beast" status!

Look forward to chatting with people and sharing my love for these monsters with you all!

    Cheers

    Welcome mate.

NA TD would really struggle pushing those big tires.

It isn't as gutless as I thought it would be, but definitely still want to turbo it down the track. Just means I have to struggle with finding something reliable that won't leave me in tears looking at my bank!

To be honest, just the standard HT18 turbo used on these would be fine for you and you could find a good second hand one with all the crossover pipes and manifold ready to go pretty cheap.

A heap of blokes upgrade there turbos from the ht18

Awesome, will definitely keep an eye out. My plan for right now is to not go crazy buying all the bells and whistles, I just want to get on the road as quickly as possible and have some fun. Can upgrade over time but definitely not in a rush
