My cylinder head project so far

What happened? had the car running on the driveway a few weeks back as it hadnt been used much, it started ok but after a few minutes gave out a load clunk and stopped!, the cam gear bolt came loose and eventually the cam gear sheared off the camshaft, braeking the end of the cam and causing some of the followers to smash and bending a few valves, also minor damage to front oil journal, luckily no damage to pistons etc.I had the head repaired and re skimmed just to be safe. Finally got the head back this week so attacked it today!, I found taking the bonnet off made it much easier and not such a back breaker of a job. I think the key to a good head job is keeping it all clean and ensuring lots of oiling on the head bolts, camshaft, followers and journals. also discovered the turbo spool very tight to turn so have now got that to fix!!, heres a few pics of the job so far!!

Great pictures, Im gonna be doing exactly the same in a few months. Thanks for the heads up on what infront of me. Good idea to take off the bonnet. Looks like the head goes almost all the way up to the fire wall.
