Clearview Original towing mirror - replacing the convex mirror

    Hello,

The GU had a broken mirror when I purchased it. It was an easy fix and I thought I'd share.

The mirrors fitted are the Clearview Original towing mirror. The lower section of the left side was broken (part name: Clearview Original left side Convex Mirror Kit).

The Clearview website has a full range of spare parts (and even a section for pre-owned items) and I picked up the kit for about $45 delivered to Tas.

    https://www.clearviewaccessories.com...owing-mirrors/

Easy to use site with fast shipping. It did not come with instructions but is dead simple to do.

    The kit:

Flick out the middle section of mirror to reveal the screw and undo.

A bit rusty and yuck in there. I hit it with some rust converter and lubed up the slides.

A single screw to put the new parts back in. Adjust screw so that the baseplate can move but is not loose. (you can't adjust screw once the mirror
    goes on)

Peel the back off the double-sided tape and stick the new convex mirror in place. Just like new!

Good to know, just fitted a set to the GQ and am sure to smash them first time I am out and about! They are pretty big units.

Nice. I've been thinking about getting some of these mirrors. But as Phil said i reckon I might smash them off out in the bush. Auto fold in would be nice on these.

Yeah they're way too big for me. Half the reason to fix them was so I can't remove and sell. I think I want to go for factory sized ti electric.
