Buying first patrol

Hi everyone!

I’ve just arrived in Perth, new in Australia. I am looking at buying a patrol, 2006 3L turbo diesel. I have no mechanical knowledge or experience, I just want a reliable car to do lots of remote beach camping (I like kitesurfing &#128515 I was looking at this forum and found some information about these engines sometimes being unreliable. Would you advise me to continue the sale or should I look at another model?

It has these things:
Aftermarket inter cooler with Daws needle valve, catch can, safe tune, boost and EGT gauge. Anything else I should add if I would buy the car? And anything in particular I should look at when doing the inspection? (I will definitely bring someone with me that has more experience)

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Based on historic evidence the boost control should be fine, egt is a good mod. drive by that alone. 290,000 k just run in. Enjoy!!!
