Maybe time for velcro. Lachy can rip away to his heart's content.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

You should get a new bag too, I always find I can pack up the Oz tent in 3 minutes but takes me half hr to get it into the bag.

Definitely working on that Tony, it’s my pet hate with these tents!

Oztent zipper
Got quoted $220 for a new zip. I know it’s probably a lot of work to replace zip but I need to think about an alternative fix or just suck it up lol

Cost us $600 to get 4 zips replaced in our Tvan a couple of years ago in Cairns, which is more expensive than down south - was told Melbourne price at the time would have been $450. (I removed & refitted the tent). They were all long zips which went from top, around the curved bottom & back to the top of the doors in heavy canvas. Yours I believe is a straight single length in ripstop nylon? If so $220 sound excessive to me, I'd phone around to see if you can get it done cheaper .... but don't skimp on zip quality - they all look similar but YKK will last longer.

Yep that price is to remove the entire frame inside tent too which looks like a nightmare to do.

I’ve done a bit of research and apparently this little guy has fixed a lot of peoples problems.
For $25 it’s worth having a crack first.
