TB45e distributor resistor or power transistor

I'm pretty sure I know the answer but thought I'd put it out there for comment.

It's a TB45e motor. The distributor circuit -

The resistor, connected to pin 4 in plug F22, goes nowhere according to any diagrams I've seen but is wired to pin 2 of the ECU/ECM.

Just out of interest, does anyone know where the resistor is used and not the power transistor?

I just found out that the same coil is used in some Mitsubishi's. Mystery solved.
