    What is this

    Just noticed a wire immediately behind the oil filter on my 2007 CRD is about broken. It's joined to something that is attached to the engine. Can anyone advise what this is and best way to go about fixing it.

    Next to the filter would suggest oil pressure sender... otherwise a thermostat.

    I'm sure they're probably available as a complete assembly for not too much money. otherwise get some solder and heatshrink/wrap/tape on the thing.

    Can confirm that's the oil pressure switch which can be had for ~$30
