So google 4 me has turned up a blank so does anyone know or preferable have a link 2 a vid on how to adjust a power steering belt on a 1995 EFI GQ???

Basically I snapped both alternator belts which I know how 2 adjust but in order 2 put them on I need 2 remover the power steering belt, what a farking stupid design but it is what it is...

Think I might trade both my GQ's for a Ford Maverick

Ha. funny guy. That will solve everything!

(oh wait, except that. all fords are all shit.)

    (yes all of them)

    Aaaaaanyway.
What difficulty? Put the thing on. Crank the tension until you have about 3l4" of belt flex on the top side (That is, when you push on the belt in the middle between pulleys, it will deflect about 3/4 of an inch)
Do up the locknut/bolt (hinge/pivot)... check for same deflection. Drive on.
If it slips/sqeals, undo your locknut and tighten adjuster a bit more. say 1/2" deflection. (depends on condition of belts and pulley sheaves)

If It doesn't have a tensioner bolt (the GQ do - topside, not sure if they changed it???) then lean on it with a crowbar and do the same, as regards tension.
