GU exterior small barn door handle assembly rubber trim

Howdy all. Just wondering if I need to look at a genuine part, Clark Rubber or custom make something to fit in here.

The original just fell apart in my hands and I`m wondering what others have done to fill the gap.

Get some closed cell foam, or just soft rubber sheeting from Clark Rubber and cut one out, or use black Sikaflex...
