    Twin Transfer cases

    Hi there

I have a technical question, but will do some introductions first.

I am far from a regular on this forum. I have four Patrols
    1) 1985 MQ SD33T, on 35"s
With GQ body due to MQ body having rusted away, axle over leaf spring conversion, and rear revolving shackles
(I suspect this is illegal in Australia, but not here in SA)
It is a heck of toy though, and acts as a bit of an unassuming sleeper on trail days.
    More on that later

    2) 1993 GQ SWB with TB42, on 31"s
Restored to new, and a bit of a 'show pony' Zero mods, except for electronic distributor.
    Less mods = less issues

    3) 1995 GQ LWB with TB48 conversion, on 33"s
A LOT of school fees paid to get that right, but have had 4 years of no issues since.
    This is the touring/overlanding vehicle

    4) 2005 GU with TD42, on 33"s
    "Masewa" = Mom's wagon.
Makes a beautiful grunt and a puff after dropping the kids at school.

Back to my MQ, to make it even more awesome:
    1) Option1: I have not been able to find someone that makes a crawler gear for MQ.
    2) Option 2: would be a second transfer case. Has this been done fo an MQ? I know Jessie from 4wd 24/7 currently drives a twin case GQ...
    3) Option 3: Portal axles: Very expensive, and reduces all gears, incl 2wd high range, which I would not want.

If a twin transfer case has been done for an MQ, please let me know

    Thanks

Man, what an awesome collection you have there!
    GQ with TB48... wow!

Can you share some pictures of your SWB that I can see the wheels in better detail? They seem a good looking set of wheels.

    Cheers from Brazil.

Marks 4x4 in Melb Australia used to make a twin transfer case kit. I almost bought their last adapter assy many years ago, instead going to 85% reduction gears. The twin stick module was a lot of effort to fit by the sounds of it and I decided to not go that way. The 85% gear in low range were great when the Gq had the small 2.8 Turbo diesel straight 6, transformed it off the road. I now have the same drive in front of a supercharged Chev V8 diesel and its way overkill, but then there are times when you need to go that little bit slower. I dont know of anyone doing the bellhousings kits. You could look at the Atlas transfer cases but a bit of coin.

Will post pictures. The Shortie's rims are Micky Thomsons. They look cool, but I would actually prefer to swop them for Nissan steelies and 33" rubber to make the midget truck appear more legit.

There was a fulla over here (NZ) who ran a truck split-diff system, I think in a GQ. But i suspect also it was all custom fab. I'll try and find a link.

I'm keen af to add an MQ to my fleet...
